The Celebration
A Lake District day, a glass raised, a long table, and an evening that carries on well past “just one more song”. We’re planning a full, classic UK wedding — ceremony, wedding breakfast, and an extended celebration into the night.
Order of the day
Think: an unhurried start, the vows, a beautiful meal, then music and dancing as the light fades over the lake. Exact timings will be shared closer to the date.
Travel
The Lake District is at its best when you arrive unhurried — allow a little extra time for those last winding roads, and you’ll be rewarded with views that feel like a film.
- Oxenholme Lake District is a mainline gateway station for the South Lakes (reference).
- From there, continue toward Windermere and onward by car/taxi to the estate.
- Manchester (MAN) and Liverpool (LPL) are commonly used airports for the Lake District (reference).
- From the airport, plan for a scenic drive north into Cumbria.
On arrival
Graythwaite is a big, private estate with multiple sites and entrances — so it’s normal if your map feels like it’s taking you “into the countryside” (because it is). Once you’re close, follow the estate signage, and we’ll have clear directions on the day. (reference)
